Download Help — (mp3 department)

Some of Eleven's mp3's have been compressed to facilitate your downloading them to your hard drive.

"Why?", you ask...
(and a good question it is...mp3 is already a "compressed format")

The nature of current web technology is such that, if you have a plug-in installed in your browser that handles the ".mp3" file extension, the plug-in's player will AUTOMATICALLY kick in and play the mp3, leaving you without an option to download the mp3.

For the computer savvy crowd, there are ways around this, but for the general user, it's a "no-go".

So, to make life simple, for Macintosh users, the files have ".sit" extension, and can be uncompressed with "Alladdin Stuffit Expander 5.5".

For PC users, the files have a ".zip" extension and can be uncompressed with "Aladdin Expander 5.0 for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0."

Most new Operating Systems come with a built-in 'decompression' utility that will automatically de-compress the downloaded file into a folder containing the mp3 file.

If your system does NOT have one of these utilities, they are available as a FREE download from Alladin Systems.

Aladdin Expander 5.0(for Windows users)
Stuffit Expander 5.5 (for Macintosh users)
